Transmission electron microscope image of a thin section cut from Latuca sativa root tip specimen. Image shows formation of cell plate, during cell division. A layer of vesicles in the midplane between the the two sets of daughter chromosomes forms an incomplete cell plate. In its further growth, the cell plate will traverse the cytoplasm and reach the cell wall.
