Transmission electron microscope image of a thin section cut through an area of mammalian pancreatic tissue. Image shows a cell with several desmosomes. The intermediate filaments, associated with desmosomes are visible in this image. There is also a nice image of the basement membrane and part of a long thin endothelial cell.
