<![CDATA[Henry N. Andrews, Jr., Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut and
member of the National Academy of Science, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2002 at
age 91, following a short illness. Henry is noted especially for his work on
Carboniferous and Devonian plants,and for his books, Ancient Plants and the
World They Lived In (1947), Studies in Paleobotany (1961), The Fossil Hunters
(1980), and in collaboration with P. Gensel, Plant Life in the Devonian. He was
a truly exceptional person, and will also be remembered for his wisdom,
vision, kindness, and humor.]]>
