Most of you are aware that the Gilman and Dana Library buildings are scheduled to be torn down, with a new building taking their place. Once this project gets underway, the E. M. Facility will have to move or shut down due to the level of noise, dirt and vibration. Plans have been drawn up to move the electron microscopes to the Life Sciences center, and other instruments elsewhere on campus. At the moment all plans are on hold. As I understand things, the potential occupants of the new building are not certain, and there is even some question if or when the project will go forward. Until President Hanlon and the Board of Trustees decide how to proceed the E. M. Facility will stay where it is.
As I know more, I'll post it here.
